Ilmatsalu Youth Center

Following the administrative reform in Estonia, Ilmatsalu youth center which is now located in Tartu city is meant for youth aged 7-19.

In the center, youth can play different board games, talk to their peers, play ping-pong, table football, table hockey, WildEst, Xbox etc. All activities in the youth center are free for the youth and with open participation.

Ilmatsalu youth center focuses on all ability-based active movement propaganda – we organize orienteering, during every school break there are sports activities, and every week there is an opportunity to play disc golf.

We visit different adventure parks and indoor sports centers. The youth have the possibility to initiate their own activities which youth workers help them with.

There are also different overall trainings and field trips. During school breaks there are three-day school break programs. One of the most popular activities is the cooking club where we learn how to make simple foods, we get to know different cultural foods and overall we talk about eating and nutrition.

The focus of our youth center is offering nature education and for doing so we organize different study days, go camping, visit nature centers, invite experts to talk about their field etc.

In the youth center there is also a nature club where we talk about nature overall and learn how to survive in nature, camping etc.
