Tartu Youth Work Centre's youth centres offer the opportunity for classes or youth groups to attend workshops held in the youth centres' premises or outdoor areas.
A podcast covering youth work topics
The "Youth Window" podcast is a podcast covering topics in the field of youth work, hosted by active young people operating in Tartu!
Are you the one who would like to contribute to the creation of the podcast 🎙 'Noorteaken' (Youth Window), talk with guests about topics important to young people, and develop your public speaking skills in the process?
If the answer is yes, then write!
In the youth rooms, both young people and adults can do volunteer work. We have also outlined some options for volunteer work.
• Planning, conducting, and supervising youth room activities
• Contributing to changing the appearance of the youth room – painting, drawing, rearranging, etc.
• Independently organizing activities – baking, cooking, movie nights, tournaments, etc., including mentoring other young people
• Conducting school-related research and practical work
• Project writing and implementation
• Contributing to the activities of the Tartu Youth work camp's core group. A young person who has participated in the youth work camp at least once can join the core group.
• Internships or job shadowing for staff
•Planning and implementation of community events
•Organizing hikes, etc.
• Conducting workshops (for example, our former intern Ege is currently voluntarily leading a creative writing workshop at the Lille youth center for the older target group)
• Volunteer work through the Unemployment Insurance Fund – conducting activities for young people
• MTÜ Peemot has moved into the ground floor of the Lille house, primarily offering its activities and a safe environment specifically for LGBT+ youth, and their doors are always open to young people attending our youth centers as well
• Parents or other adults can conduct various educational and developmental workshops (e.g., makeup training, making preserves, visiting an institution in cooperation with a parent, etc.)
• School internships for students
• Introduction to a profession or specialty
• Sharing experiences
Young people have the opportunity to get involved from the planning stage right through to the end and bring their ideas to fruition.
In organizing the event, young people can participate in absolutely everything, be it creating designs, marketing, communicating with partners, finding performers, engaging with sponsors, managing and monitoring the budget, promoting the event on the radio, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Tartu Youth Work Center organizes four major youth-oriented events in Tartu throughout the year:
plus smaller, one-off events based at youth centers
