Young people from Anne and Lilleke went to a friendship camp in Elva!

The youth from Anne Youth Centre's older and younger target groups got to know each other better while having fun together at a camp. The two-day camp began on the shore of Elva Arbi Lake with a refreshing swim, a water safety workshop, and a visit to Elva Youth Centre. We would like to thank youth workers Dagmary Kuslap and Riin Pross, who agreed to give us a tour and organize fun activities for the youth at the youth centre, even though they were already on summer vacation!

The campers stayed overnight at the Tartu Health Sports Centre, but before arriving, they had to undertake a hike of over 4 km. During the walk, a refreshing picnic took place on the shore of Elva dam lake, and naturally, swimming once again. Upon reaching their accommodation, the young people were tired but happy.

Accommodation was in campsites, and the young people in each “house” got to craft their own house flag. Later, a flag game was played, and the day concluded pleasantly with s'mores roasted around a campfire and tea.

The next morning brought an exciting surprise: all the sandwich toppings had frozen solid in the fridge overnight. This meant that for breakfast, alongside hot porridge, we enjoyed refreshing frozen sandwiches. However, everyone's stomachs were full, and they set off once again towards Elva. Visiting the beach was also part of the second day's plan – this time, they headed towards Elva's largest lake, Verevi. They swam and played until the camp activities for this time began to wind down.

Everyone was very excited, and we invite all young people to join us for fun at the camp again!

This approach goes beyond merely taking into account differences in origin, gender, abilities, or orientation; it is aimed at removing barriers, expanding opportunities for marginalized and minority groups, and ensuring their full inclusion in all activities. School Break City Camp – One Day, One Place, Lots of Fun!

We put together a varied program for every school break, but City Camp Day is the most special day of the entire break. On this day, Tartu’s youth gather at a single youth center. While all five centers are usually open, during City Camp, activities take place in just one location. This gives young people the chance to visit a place they might not otherwise go to on a daily basis
