Renovations are underway at Anne and Lille youth centers.

Since October, there has been more hustle and bustle than usual around both the Lille and Anne youth centers. This is because renovations are taking place around and inside both youth centers.

A new outdoor pavilion with a roof and walls was built in the courtyard of Lille youth centre, where concerts and outdoor activities for the youth centre can be organized in the future. The kitchen of Lille youth centre will also undergo renovation at the beginning of December. Currently, the kitchen area is narrow and does not allow many young people to cook at once or, for example, to access the kitchen in a wheelchair. The construction work plans to expand the kitchen area, thereby enabling more young people to participate in cooking.

Renovation work is also underway in front of the Anne Youth Center and on the second floor. A new garbage shed was built in front of the Anne Center at the end of October. An outdoor pavilion with a roof will also be completed in front of the Anne Youth Center in November. In addition, new open-plan rooms are being completed on the second floor of the center, which will also house tables with computers. The rooms can also be used for meetings. The environment itself creates a good atmosphere for learning and spending free time together.

In addition to the above, the Anne Youth Centre's second floor already has a renovated room with the necessary equipment for recording podcasts. The second floor of the Anne Youth Centre is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

During the construction work, we continue to welcome all young people to visit the youth centers and also invite them to explore and actively use the renovated premises after construction.

This means ensuring equal access, active participation, and a sense of belonging for all young people. This approach goes beyond merely taking into account differences in origin, gender, abilities, or orientation; it is aimed at removing barriers, expanding opportunities for marginalized and minority groups, and ensuring their full inclusion in all activities. School Break City Camp – One Day, One Place, Lots of Fun!

We put together a varied program for every school break, but City Camp Day is the most special day of the entire break. On this day, Tartu’s youth gather at a single youth center. While all five centers are usually open, during City Camp, activities take place in just one location. This gives young people the chance to visit a place they might not otherwise go to on a daily basis
