Support for Tartu city youth's self-initiated projects (hereinafter NOA) has started with renewed vigor. For the second year, the Tartu Youth Work Center is coordinating the competition!
NOA is aimed at young people aged 11-19 who are active in Tartu. The goal of NOA is to support the implementation of youth ideas, helping them become entrepreneurial and active members of society, motivating them to identify and address challenges in the city of Tartu and the community, and providing them with their first experience in project writing and management. Within the framework of NOA, a concert, competition, roundtable discussion, meeting, campaign, workshop, information day, or other event aimed at the community or young people can be carried out. This also includes preparing and conducting a creative work that is part of the general education school curriculum, in accordance with the conditions of the NOA application procedure. A NOA project can be implemented either individually or with a team. The maximum support amount is 250 euros.
To apply, you must submit a 1-2 minute video introducing the self-initiated project idea and team, and briefly describe in the application form published on the Tartu Youth Work Centre's website the project's objective, action plan, timeline, budget, how the idea affects the applicant and/or the city of Tartu, and how the content of the self-initiated project supports non-formal learning for young people. Applications for support for a self-initiated project must be submitted at least 1 month before the project begins.
In 2019, the Tartu Youth Work Center supported nine NOA projects, which included a human trafficking-themed labyrinth theater for sixth graders, a literature evening at the youth center, a charity event on the streets of Tartu, and several Christmas-related events.
