Tartu Youth work camp is looking for new employers for the summer

Tartu Youth work camp is looking for employers for the summer of 2021 who would be interested in offering work to young people in Tartu.

The Tartu Youth Work Camp is a summer extracurricular activity aimed at young people aged 13-19 in Tartu. The camp gives young people the opportunity to gain their first work experience, meet new exciting people, and acquire knowledge and skills necessary for their future lives. The main tasks of the camp participants include various repair and maintenance work, harvesting garden and field produce, general landscaping and outdoor work, and assistance at festivals and events. The length of a workday is 4-8 hours, depending on the age of the camp participants, and the working period is a total of 7-21 days. Typically, one group consists of a minimum of 10 young people.

Group leaders, who have received training as camp counselors, assist and support the youth work camp groups in their work and are responsible for the successful functioning of their group. Among other things, group leaders organize enjoyable and active activities for the camp participants during non-working hours.

The employer is responsible for the wages, work tools, and occupational safety of the youth work camp participants. The Tartu Youth Work Center, for its part, concludes employment contracts with the participants, pays for their catering, group leaders' salaries, and, for groups outside the city, also for accommodation.

More information about the youth work camp can be found on the website: https://tntk.tartu.ee/tartu-noorte-toomalev/.

If you or your company has a greater interest in the Youth work camp and would like to offer summer work experience to Tartu youth, please contact the Tartu Youth Work Camp coordinator.
