Tartu Youth Work Center Study Tour Seminar: Bringing Together Knowledge from Around the World

This spring, the staff of the Tartu Youth Work Center took part in two study trips: one to Cologne, Germany, and the other to Lisbon, Portugal.

On June 3, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., we’ll be gathering in the NOKK room on the second floor of the Anne Youth Center (Uus 56, Tartu) for an information session on this year’s study trips.

We invite all youth workers, activity leaders, and interested residents from Tartu, Tartu County, and beyond to attend our informational seminar, where we will share the knowledge and best practices we have gained with all of you.

In Cologne, we focused on the topic of inclusion in youth work. We gained an overview of various approaches and practices—we visited organizations that work with young people with special needs, LGBTQ youth, and girls and young women. We had the opportunity to see and learn about street-based youth work. We’ll start with the topic of the study trip to Germany at 3–4 p.m.

In Lisbon, the focus was on mobile youth work and NEETs. There, we gained an overview of the situation in the past and the current state of affairs, as well as effective practices at the government level, among NGOs, in companies engaging youth, and on the streets of socially disadvantaged neighborhoods. We will discuss Portugal from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Tartu Youth Work Center’s sock design contest is about to begin! Design socks using the provided sock template. You can find the template here or get a paper copy from your youth worker.
