Need summer workers? Tartu Youth Work Camp is looking for employers
The Tartu Youth Work Centre invites companies, organizations, and individuals to contribute to the success of the 30th year of the Tartu Youth work camp.
The Youth work camp offers young people in Tartu aged 13–19 the opportunity to gain their first work experience in a safe and supportive environment. For employers, it's an opportunity to contribute to the community and youth development by offering simpler seasonal jobs to young people who have joined the camp during the summer.
Providing young people with their first work experience is important. The youth work camp helps to develop work habits, fosters a sense of responsibility, and supports the development of social skills – communication, cooperation, and adherence to agreements. A safe and supervised work experience gives young people confidence and helps them better understand the world of work.
Over the years, participants have worked in a variety of jobs – maintenance work, service, cleaning and tidying, painting, stacking wood, food delivery, gardening and field work and harvesting, advertising and activity planning, event organization, etc.
Things to consider:
- young people work under the guidance of a group leader with a camp counselor certificate;
- depending on age, the working day lasts between 4 and 8 hours;
- the working period for youth work camp groups is from mid-June to early August, the duration of one group is 1-3 weeks;
- work tasks, work tools, youth wages, and safety training provided by the employer;
- Work tasks must be in accordance with the law and appropriate for young people.
Employers who wish to involve young people and offer them work experience in the summer of 2026 are welcome to express their interest.
