75 inches of pure fun: the game party at the youth center begins!

Hey, dear young people and gaming enthusiasts!

The last month at Lille Youth Centre has been like one big spring cleaning – old consoles were dusted off and broken controllers were fixed (thanks to Alzgamer Tartu!). We even had to put locks on so that no one could “accidentally” download or upload everything they saw (hah, because let's be honest, some just can't accept being “L bozos” in some games). Everything that didn't work was thrown away, and young people were put to work – whoever managed to get a game working that our youth workers couldn't, won themselves a fancy McDonald's meal!

One of our main directions right now is towards team games! Yes, you read that right – you no longer have to sadly digest your losses alone in a corner. Now you can race together in Crash Team Racing or jointly enjoy retro hits like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In Fortnite, you can show who the real sigma is, in Minecraft, build big projects (and then destroy each other's empires), in Rocket League, send cars towards the goal, and in Vampire Survivors... well, survive (or at least try). And if you really want to make fun of someone, then Human Fall Flat and Gang Beasts are just the games where you lose your dignity with friends (and that's the best way!). You can also test your dancing skills with Just Dance – it's especially fun to watch youth workers dance along.

Currently, we have three Xbox One controllers and are waiting for the fourth to arrive! Additionally, big news: we ordered a 75-inch TV so that all your game victories (or failures – because let's be honest, those happen too) would be visible in full glory. Imagine: the screen is so big that you can even see the exact corner of every Minecraft building block.

But that's not all! Big plans are coming – think bigger competitions, virtual reality, and collaboration with other e-sports organizations and gaming enthusiasts. Are you ready for servers where you can meet friends and foes? We are!

Games bring people together, and that's exactly what we want – to bring you all together so you can compete, win, lose, and most importantly, have fun in the youth room.

If you have recommendations or games that are particularly good for playing with large groups, write to us or stop by Lille Youth Center!

Youth workers from the Tartu Youth Work Center on a study trip to Portugal

“Let’s start a green-thumbed club!”

With the arrival of spring, there’s a growing desire to be outdoors and do something interesting—something that brings joy, excitement, and sparks curiosity. At the Lillekese Youth Center, we’ve found gardening to be the perfect activity for this. We started one Wednesday by weeding the flower bed in front of the Lille House gate. We divided up the tasks on the spot—one person weeds here, another

The Voice of Youth in the Action Plan

Actively involving young people in developing the youth center’s action plan is an important step in fostering their sense of participation and responsibility. Children aged 7–11 are able to successfully express their interests and ideas when provided with a safe and supportive environment. One effective way to do this is through a monthly brainstorming session, during which young people can freely suggest activities and topics. Young people’s opinions matter and have a real impact on the life of the youth center. In addition to the idea generator, it is important to gather ongoing feedback on daily activities to understand what resonates with young people and what needs to be changed. The youth worker’s role here is to guide: to help make ideas more concrete, then link them to an action plan, and involve partners as needed. Even with younger children, simple tools such as voting, drawing, or discussion circles can be used. In a young person’s life, everything changes very quickly: what was relevant two weeks ago
