From September 20-26, our staff participated in the second meeting of the Erasmus+ project “Elevate YOUth Work” in Riga. In addition to our staff, experts working with youth from Latvia, Portugal, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, and other parts of Europe were also present.
During the meeting, participants were able to reflect on and present local activities and and workshops that had taken place, organize a forum for local LGBT+ youth and other experts, and produce various outputs for the project. For example, two videos, two photo collections, three poems, one podcast, and much more were created on the project's themes.
During the forum, locals had the opportunity to learn about the project's outcomes, listen to a panel discussion featuring local LGBT+ activists, share and hear personal stories from local youth, and meet project participants and other community members.
The participating staff themselves rated their experience in the project as very enjoyable and educational; new cooperation partners and like-minded people were found, and experiences and new knowledge were gained that will make our work with sexual and gender minority youth better and more effective in the future!
The project initiator is Active Rainbow.
