On June 26th, the youth from Tartu Youth Work Camp gathered together in Kassitoome valley to kick off the summer camp season in a lively mood.
At the opening event of the youth work camp held at Kassitoome, young people met their groupmates and leaders for the first time, received their employment contracts and camp shirts, and played introductory games. After this, they headed to Town Hall Square, where the camp participant's oath was taken, Maasika Klaarika's song was sung, and greetings were heard from Mayor Urmas Klaas, Head of Youth Work Helen Siska, and TNTK Director Margit Kink. The Mayor officially opened the youth work camp summer with a ceremonial drum roll.
This summer, 183 young people will be working at the Tartu Youth Work Camp. This year, jobs are being offered by Foxway, GoBus, Tartu Terminal, Tartu City Library, Tartu Youth Work Center, Fudy, Wolt, Honeyberry, Marjamaa Farm, Männioru Farm, and Viru Maasikas. For the first time, two Estonian-Ukrainian work camp groups will also be participating this summer.
