At the appreciation event dedicated to supporters of national defense held on June 19, the Tartu Youth Work Center received the “Supporter of National Defenders” recognition from the Ministry of Defense.
For the first time, 50 Estonian companies and organizations received the “Supporter of National Defenders” recognition, as a token of gratitude for maintaining the income of reservists during training and for other benefits offered to national defenders. Nearly 200 companies and organizations were nominated for the “Supporter of National Defenders” recognition, from which the jury selected 50 most outstanding ones to be awarded. Among them, the Tartu Youth Work Centre also received the recognition.
Youth worker Sära Sthella Tohv, who was nominated for the award, says thatnational defense is close to her heart and a responsibility she is happy to bear. "I am grateful that the Tartu Youth Work Center allows me to have a flexible schedule so that I can take part in both the Defense League and the Defense Forces' exercises. In addition to supporting me, the center contributes to national defense education for young people by conducting workshops, inviting various guests, and referring interested parties to youth organizations. As a youth worker, I am a role model, and what better role model than to actually contribute somewhere myself."
