What to do for Christmas?

A blanket of snow has covered the ground, winter has arrived, and the thermometer shows sub-zero temperatures.

Here are a few suggestions of things to do with your family this Christmas.

It's definitely worth watching some nice Christmas movies like "Home Alone", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "Eia's Christmas at Phantom Owl Rock" and "Ladybug's Christmas". "Ladybug's Christmas" is also available for free on Jupiter (https://jupiter.err.ee/1203331/lepatriinude-joulud).

Homemade gingerbread cookies are a wonderful accompaniment to the film!

December 11 – Christmas workshop for youth (4:00 PM - 7:00 PM), where Christmas tree decorations will be made together with TNTK.

December 13 – Christmas concert by song studios Tähe Viis and Fadiees (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM), featuring Christmas songs from various countries.

December 14 – Tartu Winter Dance Day (13:00 – 14:00).

December 18 – Tartu Youth Work Center's Christmas party: South Estonian Dog Center (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM). During the hour, the South Estonian Dog Center will talk about breeding and raising purebred dogs, and dogs will also be present for interaction and making friends. At 6:00 PM, Sebastian Jasinski, a participant from the ninth season of Estonia is Looking for a Superstar, will take the stage.

A mobile youth center will be on the move in Tartu this summer

From June 1 to September 1, the Tartu Youth Work Center is launching the MoNo bus—a youth center on wheels—as part of a pilot project, bringing youth work to young people at their everyday gathering places. The Voice of Youth in the Action Plan

Actively involving young people in developing the youth center’s action plan is an important step in fostering their sense of participation and responsibility. Children aged 7–11 are able to successfully express their interests and ideas when provided with a safe and supportive environment. One effective way to do this is through a monthly brainstorming session, during which young people can freely suggest activities and topics. Young people’s opinions matter and have a real impact on the life of the youth center. In addition to the idea generator, it is important to gather ongoing feedback on daily activities to understand what resonates with young people and what needs to be changed. The youth worker’s role here is to guide: to help make ideas more concrete, then link them to an action plan, and involve partners as needed. Students from Annelinna High School visited the Lille Youth Center

The Lille Youth Center, part of the Tartu Youth Work Center, offers young people a wide range of opportunities for participation and personal development. Schools are welcome to visit us for project days or to encourage their students to join our clubs. The clubs operating at the Lille Youth Center include the Hiking Club, Cooking Club, Book Club, Career Club, and the sex education club “Seks vä?”. In addition, we organize city-wide major events, where we welcome young people to actively participate in the organizing teams.
