At the beginning of March, we packed our bags and headed off on a study trip to Malta with our team. We discovered how young people are supported in this sunny Mediterranean country.
The focus of our study trip was Aġenzija Żgħażagħi, a non-profit organization that plays an important role in supporting and developing young people in Malta. We gained an inspiring experience – meetings with passionate youth workers, in-depth discussions on youth work methods, and the opportunity to see how practical solutions shape the future of young people.
According to Maltese youth work law, young people are aged between 13 and 30. Compared to Estonia, Maltese youth work places a greater emphasis on projects and various programs. Thanks to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and other non-profit organizations, young people in Malta can participate in various programs where they can develop their musical, technical, and artistic talents. Young people from challenging family backgrounds have the opportunity to learn life skills and receive psychological support. It was inspiring to see and hear that there are also good and supportive programs for young people with special needs and neurodivergent youth, aimed at supporting their development and independence.
Until the next adventures! 🌞
