Knowledge Day will take place differently this time

On September 1st, which is this Wednesday, another Tartu Wisdom Day will take place, with this year's slogan being 'Tartu of Wise Thoughts'. This year, the Day of Knowledge will be held in the courtyard of Anne Youth Centre and in various hobby schools. Wisdom Day will conclude with a concert featuring Liis Lemsalu band as the main act.

Tartu Wisdom Day is traditionally a back-to-school celebration held in Tartu on September 1st, combining entertainment with opportunities to find extracurricular activities for the new academic year. Various Tartu hobby schools and associations are present with interactive workshops, and music and dance schools perform both in front of and on the stage. In addition to the activities of the Tartu Youth Work Center, the courtyard of Anne Youth Center also hosts Private School HuviTERA, Estonia_TUIT iGEM team, American Councils, JJ-Street dance school, Stuudio Säsi, Red Cross, OLE (Railway Safety), Guides, YFU, Tartu Model Aircraft Club, VeniVidiVici, AegRuum, Tartu Children's Shelter, Tartu youth work camp core group, Tartu Nature House, DJ School, Tartu Music House, and the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund. Visitors can explore and actively participate in the activities of various hobby schools and extracurricular activity providers. Workshops, competitions, and games are held, where prizes can be won. Delicious food and treats are offered by Funfood OÜ and Mullika Street Food OÜ. The entire program starts at 3 PM and lasts until 8 PM. The day concludes with a concert starting at 6 PM, featuring the band Efektiiv and Liis Lemsalu band.

In addition to the Anne Youth Centre's fair area, Minikool, Medoonity Hobby School, SK Jõud Junior, Shaté Dance School, the University of Tartu Museum, and Lille Youth Centre will open their doors. The Tartu City Youth Council will hold a panel discussion "Future Tartu" as part of the Day of Wisdom, and Tartu Children's Art School will organize an art exhibition of students' works near Barclay Square. Tartu Wisdom Day complies with the current restrictions in force in the country. All visitors aged 18+ must prove their infection safety (by showing a vaccination passport or a certificate of a negative coronavirus test not older than 72 hours, or a certificate of having recovered from Covid). It is possible to take a rapid test on-site, which costs 8 euros. All young people under 18 must bring an identity document to prove their age.
