In December and January, youth workers could be seen bustling around in the cozy cottage of Tartu Christmas City, organizing diverse workshops for children, young people, and families.
Youngsters themselves were involved in the organization, coming up with ideas, finding guests, and planning activities. Youngsters also led workshops; for example, Aliise (14 years old) led a lip balm workshop. Participants could make chocolate or cinnamon-scented lip balm from natural materials, which made a lovely Christmas gift for a loved one.
In addition, various cooperation partners from all over Tartu visited the village every day. For example, the Peemoti Center held a badge workshop where participants could design their own badges with cool designs. The Tartu City Museum challenged both children and their parents to make their own New Year's lucky coins by the bonfire.
Tartu Nature House has been out several times with an interactive exhibition on exotic animals and plants. Visitors were able to examine both the footprints and fur of the animals.
All activities were free, and the event was supported by the City of Tartu.
