FREE TRAINING FOR YOUTH: Street Art + Augmented Reality = Your Reality?!

Last autumn, a 500 m2 mural was completed under Tartu's Sõprus Bridge, a collaboration between young people from Tartu and Tampere. Now, the Finnish Institute offers young people in Tartu the opportunity to experiment with how a physical street art piece can find new expressions in the world of augmented reality. To this end, we are organizing a free training consisting of four workshops for young people up to 19 years old. As a result of the course, one or more virtual artworks will be created, with the street art piece serving as the starting point.

The tools include the 3D graphics program Blender for creating content for augmented reality, and Mobi Lab's augmented reality solution Reality Maker for building augmented reality experiences in a physical location. After the training, the augmented reality experience created with Reality Maker can also be explored by all other interested parties.

All necessary learning materials are available in the workshops, and no prior experience is required. Snacks will be provided during breaks. The course can accommodate up to 10 young people on a first-come, first-served basis by pre-registration.

The training is organized by the Finnish Institute in cooperation with Mobi Lab and Tartu Art School. The training is part of the DIGGILOO project – Digital Cultural Production from Youth to Youth.

School Break City Camp – One Day, One Place, Lots of Fun!

We put together a varied program for every school break, but City Camp Day is the most special day of the entire break. On this day, Tartu’s youth gather at a single youth center. While all five centers are usually open, during City Camp, activities take place in just one location. This gives young people the chance to visit a place they might not otherwise go to on a daily basis
